📖 Moment of Encounter Devotional
By Prophet Dr. Abiodun Adesida
Topic: The Legend of Our God.
("The legend that must be told is the legend of our God.")
Key Scripture:
“One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.”
— Psalm 145:4 (KJV)
✨ Introduction:
Every culture, tribe, and people preserve their history through legends—stories of great deeds, brave men, and mysterious wonders. But there is one legend that transcends time, culture, and imagination—the legend of our God.
His story is not a fable; it is truth sealed by eternity. His mighty acts are not hearsay—they are living proofs across generations. From Genesis to Revelation, from the early Church to contemporary revivals, God keeps writing His story in the lives of men and women. And this legend must be told every day to our children, because who would have imagined that the Lamb of God could rescue the souls of men?
Let’s reflect on some of the glorious wonders that make up this timeless, living legend.
1. A Dry Rod Budded, Bore Flower in One Night
📖 Numbers 17:8
In a single night, a lifeless stick—a rod once cut off from life and buried in forgetfulness—suddenly budded, blossomed, and bore almonds. This was not just a sign; it was a heavenly authentication of divine choice.
📝 Encounter Truth:
God specializes in reviving what men have discarded. Even if your destiny seems dry and fruitless, God can make you bloom again—in one night!
🙏 Prayer:
O Lord, breathe life into every dry rod in my life. Let overnight miracles validate Your hand upon me.
2. Can a Nation Be Born in One Day? Yes! When Zion Travails
📖 Isaiah 66:8
Nations rise over decades. Governments are formed by long battles. But when Zion travailed, God birthed a nation in a day. He compressed what should take generations into a divine moment.
📝 Encounter Truth:
God is not restricted by time. When travail meets the throne of grace, delayed destinies are delivered with speed.
🙏 Prayer:
Lord, as I travail in prayer, let divine speed rewrite my story. May my season of waiting end in supernatural birthing!
3. The God of Apostle Babalola Raised a 4-Day Dead Pregnant Woman
📖 John 11:25-26
If Lazarus’ resurrection was mind-blowing, the story of a pregnant woman raised after four days in the grave takes it further. Not only did God restore her life, but also the baby in her womb. Her body had decayed, yet God reversed decay and rewrote her story.
📝 Encounter Truth:
No case is too difficult for God. He doesn’t just raise the dead—He restores what was never expected to survive.
🙏 Prayer:
Resurrection Power, breathe upon every hopeless situation in my life. Let my testimony become part of Your divine legend!
4. A Stingy Bird Fed the Prophet
📖 1 Kings 17:6
Ravens are among the most selfish birds—known to abandon even their young. Yet, under God’s command, the raven became a delivery agent for Elijah, bringing meat and bread every morning and evening.
📝 Encounter Truth:
God can suspend the laws of nature to favor His children. He can turn the unlikely into a source of blessing.
🙏 Prayer:
Father, raise help for me from strange and unexpected places. Command even the stingy raven to feed me in my time of need!
5. He Parted the Red Sea—Above Scientific Possibility
📖 Exodus 14:21-22
Science says water cannot stand upright. But when God stepped in, the Red Sea parted, creating a highway for Israel and a grave for Pharaoh. What drowned others delivered God's own.
📝 Encounter Truth:
The God of wonders operates above logic and science. What limits others is what He uses to showcase His glory.
🙏 Prayer:
O God of the Red Sea, make a way for me where there seems to be no way. Let my miracle defy every human explanation.
🔔 Conclusion:
The legend of our God is full of impossible possibilities. He raises the dead, feeds with ravens, births nations in a moment, and turns dry sticks into blooming branches. And above all, He gave His Son—the Lamb—to rescue the souls of men.
This is a legend we must tell daily, especially to our children. Not as bedtime stories, but as truths that inspire faith, build hope, and stir the next generation to encounter Him for themselves.
📣 Declaration:
Say this boldly:
“I believe in the legend of my God! I will see His wonders, tell of His deeds, and walk in His power. I will pass His stories to the next generation, and I too shall become part of His divine legend!”
📘 Continue to tell the legend… and you will live in the wonder of His presence.
