Topic: *Who Will Roll Away This Stone...?*
Text: Mark 16:3
> “And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?”
🔍 Introduction:
This is not just a question asked by the women who went to the tomb — it is a question that many of us are still asking today.
When life becomes heavy with responsibility…
When prayers seem unanswered…
When every effort still meets resistance…
We ask:
> “Who will roll away this stone?”
This is a question of helplessness, of desperation, and of dependence on something greater than human strength.
🪨 Understanding the Stone:
In the context of Mark 16, the stone was:
Very large
Humanly immovable
A barrier to divine duty
In our context today, the “stone” could be:
An illness without cure
A debt without solution
A calling without support
A marriage without peace
A family without unity
A ministry without growth
A dream without resources
A repeated cycle of delay and failure
The stone is anything that blocks your next level or buries your destiny.
✝️ God Already Went Ahead
Mark 16:4 says:
> “And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away...”
This shows us that while they were worrying and asking “Who?”, God had already sent help.
Before you cry, God sees.
Before you arrive, He prepares.
Before you touch the barrier, He removes it.
💡 Life Applications in Key Areas:
1. 🔹 Spiritual Life
Many feel spiritually stuck — dry prayer life, no fresh fire, no divine direction. The stone of guilt, sin, or spiritual fatigue blocks progress.
✅ Application: Call on Jesus, the Resurrection and the Life, to revive your altar. He still rolls away the stone of spiritual dryness and replaces it with passion, hunger, and new wine.
2. 🔹 Marital & Family Life
You might be asking, “Who will fix this broken marriage?” or “Who will bring peace back to my home?”
✅ Application: Even when human love fades, God’s covenant remains. Invite the Lord into your home — He can roll away the stone of bitterness, heal the wounds, and breathe fresh affection into a dry relationship.
3. 🔹 Financial Life
Debt, poverty, joblessness, and lack of opportunities can become heavy stones.
✅ Application: Don’t rely solely on people. Trust the God who brings water from the rock and manna from heaven. He can send divine connections, unexpected favour, and supernatural provision.
4. 🔹 Health and Healing
That diagnosis. That chronic condition. That generational affliction. These are stones.
✅ Application: The same Jesus who raised the dead and healed the blind is still the Chief Physician. When you surrender your body and trust His Word, healing flows, and stones of sickness are rolled away.
5. 🔹 Academic and Career Progress
Some stones stand at the doors of graduation, promotion, employment, or admission.
✅ Application: God has the keys to every closed gate. Seek Him, and He will raise helpers, break protocols, and give you divine visibility.
6. 🔹 Ministry & Calling
Maybe your calling seems buried. The stone may be lack of support, stagnancy, or fear.
✅ Application: If God gave you the vision, He will give the provision. Don’t stop at the tomb — keep walking. You’ll soon see that the stone has been rolled away!
🙏 Prayer:
O Lord, I acknowledge my limitations. I cannot move the stone on my own. I lift my eyes to You — the Source of my help.
Roll away every stone blocking my joy, peace, progress, and purpose. Show Yourself mighty in my life, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
🕊️ Prophetic Declaration:
> “From this moment, the stones before you are rolled away!
The stone of stagnation is gone. The stone of sorrow is lifted.
You will walk into what you thought was inaccessible.
Helpers will appear. Angels will be dispatched.
Your miracle is no longer buried. It is rising now — in Jesus’ name!”
📘 Final Word:
> When you reach your tomb moment, don't stop at the stone. Keep moving.
When you arrive, you will find out: God has gone ahead!
The answer to “Who will roll away the stone?” has always been:
The Lord Strong and Mighty!
Your Brother
